If your pet is traveling on American Airlines, then additional paperwork will be needed.
If we have booked your pet to fly with American Airlines, then you will need to provide additional paperwork for their travels.
We will need the following documents from you/your vet:
Heat Restrictions:
American Airlines will not accept pets for travel if the temperature is above 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29.4 degrees C) at any location on the itinerary.
Cold Restrictions:
American Airlines will not accept pets for travel if the temperature is below 45 degrees Fahrenheit (7.2 degrees C) at any location on the itinerary UNLESS you have a veterinarian complete the above Acclimation Letter. However, the airline may still refuse pets for travel if the temperatures will be below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-6.6 degrees C) (even if you have the Acclimation Letter).
